BTWSC Because… Youth Crime Feedback Meeting

Thursday 25th June 2009, 11.00am to 1.00pm. £Free

Central London (venue to be confirmed upon booking)

Home Office Minister Alan Campbell MP has confirmed his attendance.

Representatives are invited from a cross-section of the community – including parents, teachers, youth workers, policy makers, elected representatives, the police, magistrates, community and voluntary organisations, and faith groups – to the one-year follow-up meeting to find out updates and good practice since the BTWSC Because… Youth Crime Summit in June 2008, when Home Office Minister Vernon Coaker MP was the special guest. It will serve as a pre-launch to Voice Of Responsible Radio.

Because… background: In 2005, BTWSC organised workshops and consultations to explore possible solutions to youth crime. In 2006, it launched the publication of the Because… document in 2006. In 2008, BTWSC organised a youth crime summit at GOL (Goverment Office For London) to look at the Top 4 recommendations that came out of the consultations. It was agreed that we would meet in a year’s time to find out what has been achieved: the Feedback Meeting offers that forum for hearing what has been done or is being done, and also an opportunity to network with key stakeholders.
