The JCDC annual National Festival of the Performing Arts Competition continues in the various parishes across the island in unearthing, developing, showcasing, preserving and promoting the creative talents and expressions of the Jamaican people. Numerous participants from schools, community groups, youth clubs, social clubs, performing arts clubs, churches as well as outstanding individual performers are competing for top parish honours as well as a chance to go on to the National Finals. The areas covered are Dance, Drama, Music, Speech and the Traditional Folk Forms. Participants are engaged in a number of workshops throughout the year before competing at the zone, parish and national levels.

We invite coverage of the Parish Finals, which showcases the best entries in each Parish, which will then move on to the National Finals.  See schedule for Monday, April 28 to Friday, May 2, 2014.
