The JCDC annual National Festival of the Performing Arts Competition is ongoing in the various parishes across the island in unearthing, developing, showcasing, preserving and promoting the creative talents and expressions of the Jamaican people.

Participants from schools, community groups, youth clubs, social clubs, performing arts clubs, churches as well as outstanding individual performers are competing for top parish honours as well as a chance to move on to the National Finals. The subjects covered are Dance, Drama, Music, Speech and the Traditional Folk Forms. Ahead of competing at the zone, parish and national levels, participants are engaged in a number of workshops throughout the year aimed at improving the quality of their performances.

We invite coverage of the Parish Finals, which showcases the best entries in each Parish, which will be greatly appreciated.
