The ten finalists in the 2014 Jamaica Festival Song Competition will bring a different vibe to the popular Bank of Jamaica Lunch Hour Concert this Friday, July 25 ahead of the National Finals on Saturday, July 26.
The concert which is held on the last Friday of each month has brought pleasure to thousands of Jamaicans since its inception over twenty years ago. It will be the perfect opportunity for Jamaicans to get a taste of the Festival Songs which have been receiving much public support. The Lunch Hour Concert will be held at 12: 30 p.m. at the Bank’s auditorium and is free to the public.
The National Finals of the Festival Song Competition will get underway at 8:00 p.m. at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre and will feature the entries, “Island in the Sun” by Bono G, “Sweet Jamaica” with Bastic, “Jamaica Boom” by Sanjay, “Mi Likkle Paradise” sung by Pehtrol, “I Love JA” – DeepJahi, “My Jamaica” by Kahani, “Jamaica Nice” with Clearance, “Jamaica Irie” – Oliver Smoothe, “Little But We Tallawah” by Rasta Keekee and “We Produce” by Rojjah.
Tickets can be had at the Portmore Mall Pharmacy, Sangster’s Book Store (Mall Plaza, Portmore, Sovereign, King Street), JCDC Offices and online, www.jcdcjamaica.com. Tickets cost adults $900 pre sold, $1000 at the gate and children $400 while public sector employees are able to purchase tickets at $800 with identification.
Jamaican artistes Bugle, Nesbeth and IKaya will provide entertainment for the Show which is sponsored by the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation, the Jamaica Music Society, CVM TV, SunCity Radio, IRIE FM, ATL Group, PETCOM, RJR 94 FM, CHASE Fund, Tourism Enhancement Fund, Clear Sound Production Services, Domino’s Pizza and Nationwide FM.
