Three weeks ago while in Jamaica I had an interested discussion about the public beaches there. The discussion centered around the lost of public beaches to big companies who want to build hotels. I had mentioned that on a visit to the North Coast in 2004 I was still able to find nice patches of “free” beaches. They warned me that it is changing quickly. Pauline Ford-Caesar, one of the writers on Jamaicans.com, alerted me of a fight in Jamaica for to “Free Winnifre Beach“. I wonder if there is a bigger movement coming…
