On Saturday, June 14th, 6 comedians from various worldly cultures will come together for an ALL Laugh Comic Relief Party to celebrate the Dads in your life while supporting a worthy cause in the Joshua’s Heart Foundation.
The International Food & Comedy Festival combines the great equalizer, food with comedy to fuse international cuisines and international comedic talent and bring first class entertainment to the diverse population of South Florida. The show is the brainchild of Jeremy Stennett and is produced and managed by The Lifestyle Agency of Poughkeepsie, NY. Stennett decided to partner with Joshua’s Heart Foundation after learning of the young man behind the movement, Joshua Williams, who at the tender age of 4 ½ found his purpose in life and embarked on his mission to end world hunger. “We were so impressed by young Joshua’s initiative and tenacity, he has accomplished in his short lifetime what many have not even attempted to do in our many years here on this earth”, said Stennett. “The Lifestyle Agency is committed to help get Joshua to the next level of 1 million pounds of food delivered to those in need”, he added.
The evening begins at 5pm with an International Food Festival hosted by Chef Andrew Selz, former Private Personal Event Chef for President Clinton, former host of the Master Chef Series on the Disney Cruise Line, past host of the Food & Wine Festival at Disney Epcot and producer and star of the 2005 Food Network Special, “Navy Chef Challenge”. The food festival will showcase cuisines from around the world and kicks off with a Food Truck Competition integrating an interactive audience segment where attendees vote for the ‘Best Food Truck’. Chef Selz will host the ‘VIP Best Chef Showdown’ where select South Florida chefs showcase their best cuisine and compete in our VIP area. Local media personalities will be judging, along with Chef Selz and a select VIP event attendees. Although there is no charge to attend the food festival, attendees are asked to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to donate to Joshua’s Heart Foundation.
The comedy festival starts at 9pm and features an international lineup of headliner comedians starring, Michael Blackson, the African King of Comedy, from the movie Next Friday; Marc Theobald, the Trinidadian Comic; Jason Andors the Jewish Comic; Sara Contreras, The Latin Diva; Brooklyn’s very own Mike Yard and S. Florida’s funnyman, Larry Dogg.
