Center For Caribbean Progress, a non-profit public policy research organization, will host a series of free workshops titled Forming A Not-For-Profit Organization beginning December 1. The free workshops – a $7,500 value – to assist upstart not-for-profits complete essential government paperwork, will run over six weeks at their Jamaica, Queens headquarters. “Navigating the paperwork and filings required to form a 501(c)(3) organization can be overwhelming and tedious for upstart non-profit organizations,” stated Center For Caribbean Progress founder Donald Vernon, Esq. “This burdensome paperwork is an imperative to not-for-profits as it is used to qualify organizations for foundation grants, governmental funding and to determine tax-deductable status for donations. Center For Caribbean Progress hopes to alleviate organizations’ trepidation with our workshop series Forming A Not-For-Profit Organization offering step by step guidance in handling and submitting these essential documents and forms.”
The six-week workshop series Forming A Not-For-Profit Organization will begin on Tuesday, December 1 and meet each Tuesday through January 5, 2010.
