Free Workshop For All Jamaica-Focused Not-For-Profit: Applying for IRS 501c3 Non-profit Tax Exemption – Saturday, October 14th, 2006 Davie, Florida

The Jamaican Diaspora Southern United States, in collaboration with the Eye on Jamaica Project and Florida Atlantic University, College of Business, will host a free workshop for all Jamaica- focused not-for-profit organizations. The workshop entitled, “The Road to Exemption”, will be held on Saturday, October 14th, from 9a.m. to 2 p.m. The venue will be the Florida Atlantic University College of Business, 2912 College Avenue, ES Building, Room 106, Davie, Florida.

The Workshop will address issues of applying for IRS 501c3 non-profit tax exemption status and offer many valued resources related to board development, grant funding, Florida Division of Corporations and other related items. Non-profit organization consultant, Jane Sullivan – MNPM, will present an interactive workshop where organizations will be guided through the subtle nuances of completing IRS form 1023. She will also address questions on the development of an effective not-for profit organization in the State of Florida.
