Singer Gramps Morgan and his management company Dadason Entertainment, would like to use this opportunity to respond to reports that were published in various news publications; including a story that was carried by the Trinidad Express Newspaper dated Sunday, May 30 with the headline “Stars fail to show at concert.” Gramps would like to clarify – for his fans and those who have come to love and respect his music over the years – the reason for the non- performing at the concert.
Here are the facts:
Reggae artist Gramps Morgan, along with Shaggy, Queen Ifrica, Beenie Man, Jah Cure, Rayvon and Machel Montano were billed to perform at the recently held ‘Reggae Meets Soca & Chutney’ concert at Queens Park Savannah, Port of Spain on Sunday, May 29. Gramps was present at the venue. He was ready to perform; unfortunately he did not perform because the event organizers IRAWMA, failed to honor their obligation as specified in the agreement. Gramps and his team had made several attempts to remedy the situation at the venue but no amicable agreement could be reached.
“I was looking forward to performing for my Trinidad & Tobago fans, unfortunately the promoters did not to honor their end of the agreement. I am disappointed that I did not get the opportunity to perform and for that I would like to say sorry to all my fans” Gramps stated.
