Award-winning Destination Wedding planner Helen Graham of HelenG, has put out a challenge to young designers to create the ultimate beach wedding dress in four weeks, and they delivered!

In its second year, the Make Your Day Bridal workshop and fashion show decided to throw out a challenge to young designers to create a beach themed wedding dress and 15 young designers and their wedding dress creations were unveiled recently at Eden Gardens.

The photos have been uploaded on HelenG’s Facebook page where you can vote for your favourite. The top-five dresses with the most likes will be on show at the live fashion show on February 13 where the judges, lead by Dexter3D Pottinger, will determine which dress is the ultimate dress.

According to Graham, “I wanted to do something different this year and I thought that a design-a-dress competition would be a great challenge. We chose a beach theme because a lot of brides come to Jamaica to have their wedding on our beautiful white-sand beaches, and this competition, I hope, will expose our young designers to potential clients.”

On Saturday, February 13, Eden Gardens will come alive with an amazing fashion show highlighting the latest trends from Jamaica’s top bridal boutiques.

The event will also showcase the designs of the young designers who will also have the opportunity to showcase some of their other work.

The Make Your Day Fashion show themed ‘The year of the dresses’ will start at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from Fashion Fever in York Plaza as well as Eden Gardens. Tickets are available presold for $1,000 general and $2,500 VIP.

The online voting will end at 4 p.m. on February 10.
