Historic Reggae Event, “BioLife Sounds Of Reggae” Concert At The Brand New Barclays Center, December 12, 2012

On Wednesday, December 12, 2012, history will be made at the new multi-purpose Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Located downtown Brooklyn, the Barclays Center will host the ‘BIOLIFE Sounds of Reggae’ concert event, the first of its kind at this venue. The center which has a seating capacity for 15,000 patrons is designed to be at the center of the cultural renaissance in this eclectic and diverse market place. The ‘BIOLIFE Sounds of Reggae’ concert event will feature four of the brightest stars in the reggae constellation; Ali Campbell’s UB40, Beres Hammond and Grammy Award winners Maxi Priest and Shaggy.

Jammins Entertainment has announced the December 12, 2012 BIOLIFE Sounds of Reggae Concert at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center will be held under the distinguished patronage of the Consul General of Jamaica, Hon. Herman La Mont . The show is Barclays Center’s first Reggae concert and will celebrate Jamaica’s 50 years of independence. “I am happy to announce that the Jamaican Consulate of New York has put forth its full support of the BIOLIFE Sounds of Reggae Concert, and look forward to joining Jamaicans and enthusiasts alike for this historic event that celebrates our heritage as well as reggae music, a part of our culture we are most proud of,” says Lamont. “We have been celebrating our 50th anniversary all over the world since January and I am thrilled at the opportunity to conclude this momentous year with what is sure to be a legendary evening.”

Jammins Entertainment has also announced that the concert has chosen the American Foundation for The University of The West Indies (AFUWI) Scholarship Fund as its official beneficiary. “The American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI) is pleased to be a beneficiary of the BIOLIFE Sounds of Reggae Concert at Barclay Center,” said Ann-Marie Grant, Executive Director of The AFUWI. “This contribution to the scholarship program for needy students at the University of the West Indies (UWI) is a stellar indication by those involved to the important role that education plays in empowering young people in this case the youth of the Caribbean. On behalf of the students who will benefit, we are truly grateful.”

Doors will open to concert goers at 6:00pm with Showtime at 7:00pm.
