Jamaican Gold Medal Play “Hot Spot” for Atlanta – Sunday September 10th at 6.00pm

It was sold out in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, now Atlanta theatre goers will be given generous servings of comedy and drama as Sunshine Theatre Company of Florida and Caribbean Promotions of Atlanta presents Basil Dawkins Gold Medal winning play HOT SPOT.

The show will take place on Sunday September 10th at 6.00pm at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center, 2530 Mt. Zion Parkway, Jonesboro

Basil Dawkins is undoubtedly Jamaican best playwright and this production of HOT SPOT reinforces this as the play received 5 nominations for the International Theatre Institute’s Actor Boy awards. It also won the Gold Medal for Creative Writing (Plays) from the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission. The Judges report said, ” HOT SPOT was unanimously adjudged the Best Play, not only this year but the best of those entered in the recent past. It was truly outstanding.”

HOT SPOT stars Charles Hyatt, Volier ‘Maffie’ Johnson, Margurite Newland and introducing Zandrian Maye (the little dynamo). It is directed by well known actor/comedian/director

Buddy Pouyatt.. The play is set in the kitchen of a small Mom and Pop restaurant, it focuses on their personal and business struggles when they hire a new chef., as a big restaurant opens next door.
