Casting his hometown of Miami as the scenic backdrop for an all-day beach party, Hymn Marley turns the heat way up in the visuals for his latest single “Hot Step,” which released on September 20th via the talented young artist’s Hymntertainment label (distributed through Tuff Gong International). The new video, which premiered on urban contemporary music channel BET Jams as part of their #FreshFaceFriday playlist, was directed by Marley’s longtime creative cohort Donbi TV. Staying true to the lyrical content of the song, Hymn delivers the “red cup vibes” on the boats and beaches of his South Florida city, with the help of some pretty locals.

“The concept behind the ‘Hot Step’ video is the same thing as the song — very simple — being with your friends and family, having fun, and enjoying life,” said Hymn. He added, “the experience was amazing. Nothing’s better than being on a boat with beautiful people and enjoying all that Miami has to offer.”

“Hot Step” was produced by David and Jonathan Julca, whose credits include Arturo Sandoval and Paulina Rubio, to name a few. Their pop-meets-dancehall creation is the third single to drop from Hymn’s upcoming In My Head EP, due for release on October 4th. The song has become something of a local hit as it quickly earned support on radio from the likes of legendary Miami DJ hosts like Waggy Tee (99 Jamz) and Tanto Irie (HOT 105).

Hymn is the grandson of musical icons Bob and Rita Marley, and the son of multi-Grammy award winner Stephen Marley. Born in Jamaica, he now resides in Miami.
