(October 2, Minneapolis) Inner Circle, the Bad Boys of Reggae, have kicked off a two week tour with Slightly Stoopid, a premier southern California reggae inspired rock group. The tour goes October 2nd and will continue for two weeks as they hit various college markets across the country.
Inner Circle is currently promoting a recently released EP at iTunes that is giving a sneak peak into the album they are preparing for 2008. The EP, Blazin Reggae, was released digitally by DubShot Records, and Inner Circle ‘s own Sound Bwoy Entertainment. The set features guest appearances from Damien and Stephen Marley, Buju Banton, and Junior Reid and has received critical acclaim since its release. Their new single “Beds Too Big” featuring Pitbull is currently in heavy rotation throughout their home town of Miami , and is starting to grow in other markets. The group is presently in the process of compiling songs for a new double album, tentatively titled State of the World, and has recently contributed a song for a reggae tribute to the Police, which will soon be release via Shanchie Records.
The story of Inner Circle is legendary, from their roll in the foundation of reggae music with Jacob Miller in the 70s to their amazing chart topping success in the 90s. The group is proud of their success, including their biggest hit “Bad Boys,†the title song for the COPS Television show. A song the group has admitted has gotten them out of a few altercations with the Police.
Inner Circle couldn’t be happier to be on the road with Slightly Stoopid, and are developing a relationship with the Southern California rockers both on the road and in the studio. Inner Circle along with Bass player Ian Lewis’ son Abebe Lewis currently operate one of the premiere studios in Miami, called Circlehouse Studios. It is home to countless hits and a regular spot for many multi-platinum artists. At any point in time you can see Lil Jon, Sean Paul, or Beyonce using their facilities. In a sperate facility the group has their own studio where they have invited several acts signed to Silverback Management like Slightly Stoopid and Pepper to come and record. These state of the art studios are one of the most sought after in all of the South Eastern United States, and their is often a waiting list for acts to use the world famous facilities.
