Integrity Children’s Fund (Integrity/ICF) is a 501C(3) non-profit organization founded in 2002 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The organization was formed in response to the problem of the relatively high illiteracy rate among Jamaican teenagers living in low income and under-served communities and aims to support the educational needs of children in these target populations across all 14 parishes of the island of Jamaica within the next ten years.Currently the organization provides over US$ 50,000.00 annually to support the operations of three schools, catering to distinct student populations affected by socio-economic hardships: -(a) Joy Town Learning Center – a Basic School making inroads in early childhood education in Trench Town, a community where not many such schools exist.(b) Operation Restoration Christian School – a Remedial School attempting, with excellent results thus far, the educational rehabilitation of illiterate teenaged students, in the Western Kingston communities, such as Rema and Trench Town.(c) Teamwork School – located in Torado Heights, St. James, this school provides education at the Nursery, Kindergarten, Preparatory and High School levels. Their goal is spiritual growth, academic mastery and physical, emotional and social development underpinned by a Christ-centred and Bible-based curriculum.
They cater to troubled teenagers from volatile community of Flankers, just outside the Montego Bay airport. One of the four annual fundraising events is a Florida based Christmas variety concert that seeks to provide patrons with a laughter filled evening of music, dance and drama. This year the concert themed Memba Christmus Time will take place at the River of Grass Theater, Pembroke Pines, on Sunday December 15, 2013 starting at 6pm. The concert will feature Jamaica’s songbird Karen Smith and violin virtuosos Jon Williams and his son Jovani. Atlanta based ICF Board member and part time comedian, Dr. Chris Parker will be the event’s emcee. Please come out and support this worthy cause. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12 and the event is being sponsored by Jerk Machine and Victoria Mutual.
