Interesting 100m finals for World Championships this year. Who will be on the medal stands and who will return home without a medal…

Am I the only one scratching my head as to which Jamaicans will be be in the finals or even win a 100m medal at this year’s World Championships in Daegu, South Korea? (I will hold off even trying to predict anything for the Olympics until after trials and World Champs)

For the women, I am fretting for the likes of Shelly-Ann and Sherone given the way in which Veronica, Kerron and Carmelita  have been blazing up the tracks so far this season.

The real worry though is for the men. There are not enough lanes to count the number of men who could possibility qualify for the 100m finals. Clearly they all cannot win, so I would really like to know who from list  below will be left behind.  These men have ALL DONE SUB TEN TIMES THIS SEASON!

Share with us your pick for 1, 2, 3 on the medal stands this summer. Could this be the year of upsets? You decide!

  • Steve Mullings
  • Asafa Powell
  • Tyson Gay
  • Usain Bolt
  • Michael Frater
  • Nesta Carter
  • Yohan Blake

Which brings me to my next question. Aren’t there athlete’s named above (women and men) who despite the results at World Champs & Olympics should consider retiring?
