International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) Launch – Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Live from the house of Angostura, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Wednesday, March 16th at 1:15pm (Eastern Time), the 2010 nominees for the special 30th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) Anniversary will officially be revealed worldwide on television and radio stations. Also, internet, social networks, mobile-phones and other broadcast media will release the 30th IRAWMA nominees and special awardees. The official media for you to tune in will be released later. Immediately after the announcement, music fans and the general public can visit www.irawma.com to vote for their best of the year 2010. Voting can also be done by mailing in the ballot or by voting via text.

Hundreds of music experts participated in the nomination selection process, which closed on January 31st.  Music experts (entertainers, media representatives, producers, promoters and record label representatives) from around the world submitted nominations for the best of 2010, based on the criteria that were given.  In the early afternoon on Wednesday, March 16th at 1:15pm live from Trinidad and Tobago, Reggae and World Music fans worldwide can watch, view and listen to the announcement live via radio, television, internet and cell phone, etc.

The Awards weekend celebration begins Thursday, May 26th and continues through Monday, May 30th, 2011. The historic 30th IRAWMA Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 28, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain, Trinidad and the concert “Reggae Meets Chutney/Soca” celebrating the winners will be held on Sunday May 29.

Fans worldwide will be the first to watch and listen to the IRAWMA nominee announcements via TV, radio, internet or cell phone.  Music fans can then visit www.irawma.com to cast their vote for their favorite nominee(s).  Let the voting begin!
