InterNations, a global network of expatriates that promotes cultural experiences, has partnered with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) to celebrate the island’s 50th Anniversary of Independence. The event will be held on Thursday, June 28 at Sky Room, the city’s highest rooftop lounge, and will highlight elements of the island’s cuisine and music.
“We look forward to celebrating Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence with InterNations,” said John Lynch, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism. “The organization’s mission to support cultural discovery affords us at the JTB the perfect opportunity to engage potential visitors to experience the diversity of our destination with the myriad of cultural wonders that it has to offer.”
Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery will be serving appetizers while reggae band JamX entertains guests throughout the evening. Sky Room’s Executive Chef, Brian Dancel, will prepare a delectable menu infused with Grace Foods’ signature Jamaican spices and their Master Mixologist will create specialty Appleton Estate rum cocktails.
The public event will feature Jamaica-themed raffle prizes, including a 4-day/3-night stay at The Jewel Dunn’s River Resort & Spa, Golden Krust gift certificates, Grace Foods products, limited edition Usain Bolt merchandise and Jamaica-branded attire. JTB’s Business Development Manager, Christopher Dobson, will be on hand to share information on planning a Jamaican vacation and on affordable travel deals.
