Ir Sais | Deeper X EP Out Today (Sony Latin)

Ir Sais, the Caribbean singer from Bonaire, sets his sights on a 2022 takeover with the announcement of his brand new EP, Deeper X (Part 1), out today May 27, 2022 via Sony Latin. While he feels at home with reggaeton, afrobeats and dancehall, Ir Sais’ five-song collection is progressive blend of his island’s sound of Ritmo Kombina mixed with Zouk, Kizomba, Kompa and Ka-Dance. Ir Sais recorded most of these songs in his native tongue of Papiamento with roots in Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch and African languages.

Ir Sais Deeper X EP Out Today Sony Latin
Two years after the impact of his 8x platinum hit “Dream Girl,” with its many remixes featuring Rauw Alejandro, followed by Sean Paul & Davido, Ir Sais is setting a course for his new batch of summer-ready party anthems and infectious love ballads. “Chikita Mala,” one of the EP’s first releases in 2022, is a soundtrack to finding love in the club.  He stretches his musical range playing piano and also producing on “Claramente,” where he sings about an epiphany of a love lost that turns out to be a blessing in disguise. He teams up with Colombian vocalist Manuel Turizo on “Bailia Kumi,” the magnetic song and video which has hypnotized over 4 million viewers on YouTube alone. On “Flauta,” Ir Sais rallies Colombian rapper Farina for a fiercely commanding verse, followed by dancehall veteran Konshens, who delivers his signature arousing wordplay. The result is an addictive tune, driven by a pitch-perfect hook accented by a flute melody that puts the cherry on top of this reggaeton-meets-Jamaican dancehall alliance.

Ir Sais is ready to take his new EP and discography of hits directly to the people.  He  will embark on a solo tour across Europe this summer and he recently performed in the United States alongside Haitian artist/DJ/producer Michaël Brun on his Bayo Tour in NYC on May 21 and at Afropunk in Miami on May 22. Tonight (May 27), he hits the stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ as part of Mega Mezcla Pre Show. See full dates below.

More on Ir Sais

Ir Sais is the artistic moniker of Irgwin Placido Sluis, born on the Caribbean island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles. His father died when Irgwin was just 1 year old. At 11, he began playing drums on tin cans. Completely self-taught, Ir Sais now masters several instruments as well as the production side. After getting his first taste of success with local Bonaire bands, he moved to the Netherlands in 2008, launching a solo career with original material that fuses pop with the Caribbean zouk rhythm. In 2018, his song “Dream Girl” caught the attention of the French remixer Djly Prod, who helped the song go viral and led to the #DreamGirlChallenge that drew massive attention to both the song and TikTok (over  4B+ streams). “Dream Girl Remix,” featuring the Puerto Rican sensation Rauw Alejandro, dropped in December 2019, and has surpassed 300 million views on YouTube. Billboard declared it the “Best Latin Song of 2020.” In 2020, Jamaican icon Sean Paul and Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido also hopped on the “Dream Girl (Global Remix).” He continues to command the attention of international artists. In addition to his Deeper X (Part 1) EP’s collaborations with Manuel Turizo, Farina, and Konshens, he joined Walshy Fire of Major Lazer for “Validé” in 2022.
