Today, the multi-platinum Bonaire singer, Ir Sais drops his fiery new anthem and visual for “Flauta” ahead of his anticipated EP, Deeper X (Part 1), out tomorrow May 27, 2022 via Sony Latin. Its U.S. broadcast premiere aired last night (W. May 25) on REVOLT TV network.
Ir Sais rallies Colombian rapper Farina for a fiercely commanding verse, followed by Jamaican dancehall star Konshens, who delivers his signature arousing wordplay. The result is an addictive tune, driven by a pitch-perfect hook accented by a flute melody that puts the cherry on top of this reggaeton-meets-Jamaican dancehall alliance.
Ir Sais sweeps us away to the tropics of his native Carib island of Bonaire on the song’s vibrant video (directed by Ryan Navarro). It is bibean early escape to the sizzling summer nights ahead.

On his anticipated EP Deeper X (Part 1), Ir Sais blends Zouk, Kizomba, Kompa and Ka-Dance into his Bonairian music called Ritmo Kombina — literally meaning “combined rhythms” in his language of Papiamento. In addition to “Flauta,” the five-song collection contains new song “Mamasita” and recently released singles “Chikita Mala,” “Claramente” and “Bailia Kumi” feat. Manuel Turizo.

Ir Sais is the artistic moniker of Irgwin Placido Sluis, born on the Caribbean island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles. His father died when Irgwin was just 1 year old. At 11, he began playing drums on tin cans. Completely self-taught, Ir Sais now masters several instruments as well as the production side. After getting his first taste of success with local Bonaire bands, he moved to the Netherlands in 2008, launching a solo career with original material that fuses pop with the Caribbean zouk rhythm. In 2018, his song “Dream Girl” caught the attention of the French remixer Djly Prod, who helped the song go viral and led to the #DreamGirlChallenge that drew massive attention to both the song and TikTok (over 4B+ streams). “Dream Girl Remix,” featuring the Puerto Rican sensation Rauw Alejandro, dropped in December 2019, and has surpassed 300 million views on YouTube. Billboard declared it the “Best Latin Song of 2020.” In 2020, Jamaican icon Sean Paul and Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido also hopped on the “Dream Girl (Global Remix).” He continues to command the attention of international artists. In addition to his Deeper X (Part 1) EP’s collaborations with Manuel Turizo, Farina, and Konshens, he joined Walshy Fire of Major Lazer for “Validé” in 2022.
