33rd Chicago Music Awards (CMA) will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014 33rd * International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) now set for the Fall- Saturday, October 4th, 2014.
After 32 years of hosting the annual Chicago Music Awards (CMA) in January/February, winter season in the windy city of Chicago and 32 years of travelling annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in the month of May, the spring season, Mr. Ephraim Martin, president of Martin’s International, the producer of both events had earlier this year, decided to move IRAWMA in the Chicago Music Awards time period and to move the CMA to October in the Fall.
Now that Martin’s International’s third and biggest event, the four-day, July 4th weekend annual International Festival of Life (IFOL) is expanding to include the cultures of more countries from Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico and South and Central America at its new Union Park location, in the downtown region of Chicago, for convenience and better operation, Mr. Martin and his team decided to reverse the CMA and the IRAWMA. This will allow the two Chicago’s events, Chicago Music Awards and the International Festival of Life to start 2014, and the International Reggae and World Music Awards to close out the year 2014 in South Florida on Saturday, October 4th, 2014, with a big bang!
This final decision to switch the CMA and the IRAWMA was made on October 1st, following a very successful, September 30th, Martin’s International special reception for Consuls General, Department of Tourism and organizations representing various Pan American and Pan African countries at the One Stop Production Studios, in Chicago.
GREAT BENEFITS!
The International Reggae and World Music Awards nominees, sponsors, advertisers will greatly benefit from branding and promotions in both of these Chicago special events, in social media and other promotions leading up to IRAWMA’s 33rd Anniversary celebration in South Florida. The Chicago Music Awards prospective nominees and judges who have been waiting since last month to start their nominations will not have to wait 22 months from the last 32nd CMA in January 2013 to be honored. The pop, r&b, rock, blues, jazz, country, reggae, calypso, latin, polka, hip hop, gospel, comedy and other potential Chicago Music Awards nominees are pumped and ready to go! This makes it a big win for both Awards events.
