Irie Fashion Rave – Good Vibes, Great Music & Sophisticated Fashions

Irie Fashion Rave (IFR), the Diaspora’s premier fashion event was another spectacular affair for the hundreds who turned out at the LQ in Manhattan last Sunday.

Oraine Barrett joined numerous New York models on the runway while supermodel Carla Campbell served as celebrity guest host of the event. Radio jock Miss Kitty from Jamaica rocked as event host. Among the local fashion designers attending IFR were John Paul Peirre, Rep Ja, Jewel Shannon, VP’s Riddim Driven, Houz Designs, Hope Wade, Original Stush and Romeich Wear (designer to the stars in Jamaica).

Singing Melody delivered a jaw dropping rendition of his new hit “Collide” while Gyptian and Romain Virgo held their own. In celebration of Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of independence, Sirius Satellite radio Program Director/ radio host Pat McKay and artiste manager Robert Livingston each received ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ for their outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry. Jamaican born rapper Heavy D and music producer Joel Chin were each honored posthumously with the “Reggae Soldiers Award” for their contribution to the Jamaican music industry. Chris Chin, father of Joel Chin accepted on his behalf, while Heavy D’s siblings Floyd and Portia Myers accepted on his behalf.

Syntyche ‘Syn” Dawkins, Marketing Director of Irie Jam Radio & co-producer of Irie Fashion Rave, Bobby Clarke, CEO of Irie Jam Radio and the entire Irie Generation thanks everyone that made Irie Fashion Rave a successful event.
