CATHERINE HALL, St James — After what he described as a “horrible start to the season”, Jamaica’s Ashinia Miller got it spot on yesterday as he smashed his own National Junior Record in the shot put when he won the boys’ Under-20 gold medal in the first session of the final day of the 40th Lime CARIFTA Games at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
Miller, who will turn 18 years old in June, had thrown 19.19m in February to set the previous NJR but got his technique and power as he smashed the event record of 18.67m held by Trinidad’s Quincy Wilson set last year in Cayman when the Jamaican took the silver. Read more >>
