Outlook For The Future: A Forum On The Jamaican Economy Friday 4th November 2005 At 7.00 P.M. – New York

The Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) will be hosting our annual forum “Outlook for the Future; The Jamaican Economy”, in New York to inform the Jamaican community and friends overseas on matters which significantly impact on the state of the Jamaican economy.

It is our pleasure to invite you to be our special guest at the Forum, which will be held on Friday 4th November 2005 at 7.00 p.m. at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, 333 Adams Street, Brooklyn NY 11201.

The main presenter at the Forum will be Mr Bruce Golding, MP, and Leader of the Opposition for Jamaica. The panel will also include Dr. Horace Chang, Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Spokesman on Water and Housing, and Mr. Earl Jarrett, General Manager of JNBS.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and have open discussions with the panel.

These forums have given thousands of Jamaicans in the Diaspora and several hundreds of Jamaicans and Friends of Jamaica living in New York a chance to receive first-hand information on developments and investment opportunities in Jamaica. The Forums also provide an avenue for members of the Jamaican Diaspora to have open dialogue with government and sector leaders.

Key Jamaican decision makers such as the Hon. Dr Peter Phillips, Minister of National Security, and the Hon. Dr Omar Davies, Minister of Finance and Planning have participated in the forums by delivering presentations on issues affecting the Jamaican economy.

To date, forums have been held in cities such as Toronto, Birmingham, Manchester, London, New York and Florida.

The 2005 series will feature Opposition Leader, Bruce Golding, who will present a critical analysis of the Jamaican economy, which will include topics such as “Macro-Economic Stability”, “Revenues versus Debt Servicing” and “Investment and Job Creation.”
