Background: Jamaica will be the country in the spotlight during the Houston International Festival (also called ifest). The JTB in collaboration with ifest organizers has been working to ensure that Jamaica is given maximum exposure which will redound to the benefit of the destination and economy.

This exciting outdoor Festival takes place over fifteen (15) acres in the downtown Houston area including four outdoor stages, a dizzying array of cafes, over 150 arts and craft markets, 50 food & beverage booths, children’s programming, street performances and educational exhibits.

The main activities are scheduled for Friday, 21st April 2006 and include a Business Breakfast to be hosted by JAMPRO with members of the Houston Business Community, the Official Opening Ceremony, Luncheon Reception, the Houston Chronicle Board Meeting and the Mayor’s Gala.
