On Sunday August 21 at 6:00pm Bookophilia will host the launch of Jakoostic Vol. 1 featuring music by jazz musician and composer Seretse Small, Wayne Armond and Donald Waugh.
Jakoostic emerged from the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica, where there was a presentation of songs from Jamaican songwriters as literature. At that time three guitarists, Wayne Armond, Seretse Small and Steve Golding came together to deliver “Jamaican Acoustic Music.” The seeds were planted and Jakoostic was born. This enchanting collection features the vocals of Wayne Armond and Donald Waugh.
Jakoostic is a Griot Music production. Patrons will be inspired by a collection that embodies Jamaican classics with jazzy improvisations. What better way to spend a Sunday evening!
