Restoration Village Farm, owned by Trevor and Jean Campbell in Tom’s Hope, Portland, is planning to cash in on the agri-tourism market. The farm, which comprises 36 acres, is started offering tours in September 2014, charging $1,600 for adults and $1,100 children. The tour provides a hike through trails on the hillsides, a wading pool, and a lunch made from produce grown on the farm. The Campbells work the farmer with manual labor in order to preserve an eco-friendly environment.

According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), Jamaica has the highest portion of women managers of anywhere in the world. It is ahead of nations like the United States and the United Kingdom. The agency also found that women remain under-represented at top management levels, but the number of women in senior and middle management has risen in the past two decades.
ANDERSON NAMED INTERIM INSOLVENCY SUPERVISOR—01/13/15
Roy Anderson, a retired justice, will be the Interim Supervisor of Insolvency as the Jamaican government works to implement the new Insolvency Act. Anthony Hylton, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, announced Anderson’s appointment. The new insolvency law offers a modernized structure for settling matters of business insolvency.
RUBIS ENERGY: JAMAICA LAGS IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY—01/14/15
Rubis Energy Jamaica, a marketing company, noted that it remains willing to talk about terms with individual dealers while it waits for the outcome of discussions under mediation by Phillip Paulwell, Jamaica’s Energy Minister. Paulwell is helping Rubis and the Jamaica Retailers Gasoline Association (JGRA) overcome differences concerning new terms established with dealer stations, including franchise fees and prepayment for products.
