The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Youth & Culture will launch its Gold Anthology, a collection of gold medal winning short stories from the JCDC Festival between 1999 and 2006. This will be held during the Jamaica Creative Writing Awards Ceremony & Exhibition Launch. The publishing of the JCDC Gold Anthology is sponsored by Pelican Publishers.

Over 50 awards of Merit, Gold, Silver, Bronze along with trophies and other prizes will be presented to amateur and professional writers, who have entered their creative works in Poetry, Short Stories, Novels, Essays and Plays during the 2013 Festival.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Erna Brodber, an accomplished author, historian, social scientist and lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI).
