A roundtable initiative to highlight the positive attributes of Jamaica, as an investor safe environment, is well underway as the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) continues its series of Wealth Creation Roundtables in North America during October.
According to Leesa Kow, JNBS Marketing, Promotions and Sales Executive, following the successful staging of the inaugural forum for Jamaicans in the Diaspora, in New York last May, the series “Building a Better Jamaica through Savings and Investment,” will continue with sessions in Washington, DC and New York City, October 22 and 24, respectively.
“Based on the high level of response from Jamaicans in New York, and more recently in Florida, we saw the need not only to expand our focus, but also to return to New York,” Miss Kow stated. “And, given recent shifts in the global economy, there is need to reposition our country’s stability and restate the fact that we are open for business.”
The Keynote Speaker for these sessions will be Mr. Earl Jarrett, General Manager of the Society, who noted that, “the swiftly changing global market requires a focused presence in the marketplace to affirm our ability to do business.”
In Washington, DC, Mr. Jarrett will be joined in his presentations by the Jamaican Ambassador to the USA, His Excellency, Anthony Johnson, for the event at the Wardman Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, Oct. 22, starting at 6:30 p.m.; and Mrs. Geneive Brown-Metzger, Jamaican Consul General will participate in the NYC event at the Hilton New York, Avenue of the Americas, on October 24, starting at 6:30 p.m.
An exhibition of ceramics by Jamaican artists, members of the Association of Jamaican Potters, will be featured at the NYC Roundtable, at the Hilton New York.
