CAMPBELL-BROWN TO BE HONORED AT BEN FRANCIS INVITATIONAL—02/21/15
Veronica Campbell-Brown, seven-time Olympic medalist, is scheduled to be the honoree at the staging of the Vere Technical High fifth Ben Francis Track and Field Invitational in Clarendon. The event will feature a motorcade for past Vere students from May Pen to the venue. She will then be presented with a special award of recognition.
HEAD OF WADA IMPRESSED BY JAMAICA—02/25/15
The president of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Craig Reedie, stated that he was satisfied with the efforts made by Jamaica’s Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) and impressed with the agency’s moves toward improving its drug-testing programs. He said he thought JADCO had done “extremely well” and that WADA was “proud” of what the organization accomplished.

Chris Gayle, batsman for the West Indies, and the entire team will attempt to break through a run of poor results and extend their wins when they play South Africa in a critical Group B match in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup. South Africa defeated the Caribbean side 5-0 four years ago in their last World Cup competition.
