JAMAICAN WOMEN’S BOBSLED TEAM COMPETES—11/15/14
A women’s bobsled team from Jamaica has competed in an international competition for the first time in more than ten years. KayMarie Jones, the driver, and Salcia Slack, brakewoman, ranked last in a slate of 13 sleds completing two runs in Park City, Utah, at the North American Cup event. The Jamaicans finished 9.9 seconds behind the winner. New coach Todd Hays hopes that the team will be ready to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.

JAMAICANS’ KNEE SYMMETRY MAKES THEM GREAT SPRINTERS—11/17/14
According to Robert Trivers, an evolutionary biologist and professor of biology at the School of Arts and Sciences, Jamaica has the best sprinters in the world because of their symmetrical knees. Trivers’ research has shown that sprinters with the most symmetrical knees turn in the best race times, especially in the 100 meter distance.

JAMAICA WINS SIXTH CARIBBEAN CUP TITLE—11/18/14
Jamaica won the Caribbean Cup title for the sixth consecutive year with a 4 to 3 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in a penalty shootout. The win means that the Reggae Boyz are guaranteed a place in the Copa America Centenario 2016 and the 2015 Gold Cup.

JAMAICANS HAD “ONE GOAL” IN CARIBBEAN CUP—11/20/14
The Reggae Boyz succeeded in winning their sixth title at the Caribbean Cup with a defeat of Trinidad and Tobago. Winfried Schafer, head coach, said he was “delighted” with the victory, which showed that the Boyz are a strong team. He also noted that the team was very disciplined and focused on the one goal of winning the Cup. The Reggae Boyz took 120 minutes and a penalty shoot-out to achieve their historic win.
