SUNSHINE GIRLS BEAT ENGLAND FIVES—11/09/14
The Sunshine Girls of Jamaica defeated the England Fives 27 to 26 on day Two of the FAST5 Netball World Series in Auckland, New Zealand. According to Stacian Facey of Jamaica, it was an “ugly win,” but the team is happy with the victory.

JAMAICA RULES SAMUELS INELIGIBLE—11/10/14
The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has determined that Marlon Samuels is ineligible to play in the Professional Cricket League because of breaching JCA rules on selection. Courtney Francis, chief executive of the agency, said Samuels did not meet the requirement of playing 80 percent national competitions.

REGGAE BOYZ PLAY TO DRAW IN CARIBBEAN CUP—11/13/14
Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz cricket team played to a 1 to 1 draw against Martinique in the opening Group B match at the 2014 CFU Caribbean Cup in Montego Bay. Jamaican Darren Mattocks helped Jamaica to take the lead in the 13th minute, but Yoann Arquin of Martinique made things equal in the 29th minute. The score means that all the teams in Group B have one point.

RAMDIN RETAINS JOB, EIGHT PLAYERS NAMED TO WEST INDIES TEAM—11/14/14
Eight players have been named from the tour of India to be included in the West Indies team for a tour of South Africa, as authorities chose the team quickly to eliminate any “claims of victimization.” The team will be headed by captain Denesh Ramdin. It will also include players who left the tour of India, such as Darren Bravo, Jason Holder, and Leon Johnson.
