The Jamaica Tourist Board’s Groups & Conventions department is continuing its dynamic campaign to engage top North American meeting planners with recent events in Washington DC and Peapack New Jersey. Designated “The Spirit of Jamaica,” this roadshow series is a continuation of August events held in Toronto and Montreal.
“The chance to meet planners in our key markets face-to-face is an invaluable opportunity to showcase and convey the best Jamaica has to offer for events of any size and nature,” said John Woolcock, Jamaica Tourist Board’s Manager of Groups and Conventions. “The island has invested heavily in new properties, DMC’s and excursions to ensure that Jamaica is a top-notch destination for any event. With two state-of-the-art conference centers in Kingston and Montego Bay, increased airlift from around the world and diverse accommodations, Jamaica welcomes planners for meetings and events.”
During the series, luncheon and dinner presentations were held for 80 planners at The Dupont Circle in Washington D.C and at Ninety Acres, a farm-to-table venue situated on the Natirar Estate New Jersey. Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Audrey Marks encouraged the planners to invest in Jamaica and further strengthen the vital connections between Jamaica and the US.
Presentations were given by Jamaica industry partners including Jamaica Tours Ltd., Montego Bay Convention Centre and Ocean Coral Spring by H10 Hotels, a property set to open December 10. Appleton Rum provided a taste of Jamaica, with a rum tasting session.
