JAMAICA WELCOMES US AIRWAYS’ NONSTOP SERVICE FROM PHOENIX TO MONTEGO BAY – Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett (second from left), Chairman and CEO of US Airways Doug Parker (left), Jamaica Tourist Board Representative Dian Holland (right), Mayor of Phoenix, Phil Gordon (second from right) and Executive Director of JAMVAC Ltd Lionel Reid (center) cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially celebrate the inaugural US Airways nonstop flight from Phoenix to Montego Bay. The Jamaican festivities were held at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on December 18, just prior to the flight’s departure. The new US Airways service to Montego Bay kicked off just in time to accommodate travelers from the West Coast during the island’s busy winter travel season. The service makes travel to Jamaica more accessible from 28 cities on the west coast with the ease and convenience of no more than one connection.
