Many young children attending schools in Kingston, Jamaica are often left without the basic tools they need to succeed such as pencils and books.  In an effort to make the school year brighter for Jamaican children and families, JAMPACT will be hosting its Annual School Supplies and Toy Drive throughout the period of June 18 – August 13, 2011.  The Drive will be launched officially at media partner, Irie Jam Media Group, Headquarters in Laurelton, New York on Saturday, June 18 at 12:00 p.m.

To date, numerous volunteers and supporters have participated in the JAMPACT Annual School Supplies and Toy Drive, which has contributed to the success of JAMPACT’s adopted schools in Kingston, Jamaica.  In 2010, over nine (9) barrels and three (3) large boxes containing computers were shipped to Jamaica. With the help of generous and caring community members, children ages 3 to 5 years old, who attend JAMPACT’s adopted basic schools in inner city Kingston, will receive items such as back packs, books, crayons, markers, puzzles and more.

JAMPACT is partnering with Irie Jam Media, Trans-Continental Express Shippers, Jamaicans.com, and ZYNC TV, as well as retail locations and local organizations to provide public drop-off sites for the school supplies. The following drop-off locations have been identified with more to be added at a later date.  Throughout the period of June 18 – August 13, 2011, patrons may drop off school supplies and toys at any of the locations below.
