Belinda Brady is creating a buzz on social media and turning heads with her new track “What We Need is Love Let it Soar.” The original song written and composed by Belinda, has evolved into a roaring club mix twist, produced by the renowned multi-platinum producer DJ Marvin Prince. The single has a flavour of “Reggae meets Pop” vibe and is currently released on all major online music platforms including, Spotify, iTunes and Amazon.
Belinda is no rookie to the music arena, and is making vigorous strides in the industry. Born in the beautiful island of Jamaica, she was inspired at an early age to pursue her dream of becoming a professional musician/entertainer by her father Carl Brady, one of the founding members of Byron Lee and the Dragonaires. Her musical career heightened when she performed as a background vocalist and dancer for internationally renowned reggae artist, Shaggy, Julian Marley, and soca star, Denyse Plummer.
She is a two-time Juno nominee for her hit singles “Flex” (1998) and “Gifted Man” (distributed in 2003 by EMI on the Master T Reggae Vibes Compilation). Belinda has also won the Canadian Urban Music Award for “Too Late” (1999) for best R&B single. She was awarded as a UN Women honouree in Canada and has been their music ambassador for several years. She was also honoured as one of the 100th Accomplished Black Canadian Women in 2018.
Belinda has enjoyed much Commercial & International success from Canada, the Caribbean and across the world at Festivals, TV shows, & hotels with her singles “Want Something”, “Free Your Mind” produced by legendary grammy producers Sly & Robbie, and “I Cried”, a hit on mainstream radio with the video in medium rotation on Much More Music. Belinda has also collaborated with superstar Omi, known for his hit song “Cheerleader”, and was featured in his hit single, “Peaches”.
Belinda celebrated great success in one of her latest songs “Show Me” which was number one on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae Chart, produced by veteran drummer Paul Kastick. The Rebel Vibez Canadian Top Ten Reggae Chart airs on Vibe 105 FM and is a popular radio station with West Indians in Canada.
