Brooklyn, N.Y., May 19th …The Coalition to Preserve Reggae Music, Inc., (CPR) Reggae Artists, Musicians, Producers, Promoters & Songwriters (Reggae AMPPS) and Sons and Daughters of Jamaica have organized a Town Hall Meeting to allow members of the Jamaica Diaspora to share concerns with members of the Diaspora Advisory Board in preparation for the upcoming Diaspora convention in Jamaica, June 14-17. The convention will address building sustainable Diaspora communities and forging partnerships between Jamaica and its Diaspora for Jamaica’s development. The meeting takes place from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday, May 27th in Brooklyn at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, 331 Hawthorne Street (Nostrand and New York Aves.)
Chairman, Patrick Beckford and members of the advisory board will be present at the town hall meeting to provide a brief background about the Diaspora Advisory Board and the upcoming convention. The meeting will provide community members with the opportunity to give testimony about their concerns and offer recommendations for shaping the agenda of the delegation from the North East heading to the convention.
We invite organizations to endorse and co-sponsor the town hall meeting and invite their members to show up and share their testimony regarding their recommendations for the strengthening of the Diaspora Advisory Board and forging meaningful partnerships with Jamaica.
