February 2, 2008 – Hamilton College senior Todd Johnson was impressive in taking two wins as his school beat St Lawrence University 149-68 in Clinton New York on Saturday Jan 26. Johnson started the dual meet swimming competition by giving Hamilton “A” over a second advantage as the lead swimmer in their 200 yard medley relay which they won in 1:39.98. Todd swam 24.88 seconds for his split which in an Olympic sized (Long course metre LCM) 50 metre pool would be converted to 29.80 seconds. In the 100 yard backstroke he won by whopping five seconds to post a time of 53.64 (1:04.24 LCM). Johnson is a graduate of the Wolmer’s Boys’ School and is conditioned when in the island by “Y” Speedos Head coach Michael Wilson. He holds national records in the 15-17 years age group in the 50 metre backstroke 28.26 and the 400 medley relay at 4:06.82
