Come and be captivated by Jamaica’s beauty, rich culture and diverse people as depicted by the paintings of Jamaican artist Philip Curtis and captured through the lenses of Jamaican photographers Louis Davis and David I. Muir in the “Out of Many, One People” fine art exhibition at the African American Research Library & Cultural Center (AARLCC).
The exhibition will be held in the AARLCC Gallery at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311 throughout the months of August and September. There will be a special reception where you may meet the artists, on Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come out and see the works of these talented Jamaican artists.
The gallery is open seven days per week: Mondays through Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Please note: For David Muir’s “Pieces of Jamaica” show, this will be the final occasion to view this collection of his 2011 photographic images. The new display of his photographs depicting more authentic, candid Jamaican scenes will begin in January 2012.
As always, we hope to see you there.
