Jamaica Overseas Teachers Association UK Meeting – Tuesday, June 19th, 2007 Brixton, London

The newly formed Jamaica Overseas Teachers Association UK in association with Facilitators for a Better Jamaica (FFBJ) & Black Londoners Forum (BLF) will be hosting their second meeting to follow up on the next steps needed in the lobby to extend the time for overseas trained teachers to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.

Venue: Brixton Base Complex, 44-46 Offley Road, London SW9 OLA

Date: Tuesday, June 19th, 2007.

Time: 7 pm – 9pm.

For protocol reasons we will need the names of persons who will be attending the meeting (or would like to attend) by Monday June 18th, 2007 for verification on arrival at the venue.

In order to ascertain the number of individuals affected and the scale on which they will be affected it would be helpful if you could prepare a short profile which should include your current immigration status (optional) in the UK, a brief description of your situation and the MP who represents your constituency. This should be emailed as we are building a bank of information to be used in the campaign to change the decision to be made by the DFES.
