JAMPACT wishes everyone a happy and prayerfully more prosperous New Year (2010). The last few years have been very difficult financially and emotionally across the international community. This has no doubt impacted the work of organizations like Jamaica Impact, Inc., who are committed to increasing our impact even with limited and sometimes shrinking resources. We see ourselves practicing the principle of ‘utilitarianism’, by doing less with more.  However, JAMPACT highly anticipates a much more viable and energetic 2010, and beyond.

JAMPACT ended 2009 with three very successful initiatives: 10 barrels of schools supplies and toys shipped to Jamaica, a gathering of over 150 of our adopted basic school children for the December 16th Christmas Treat, and a successful end of year holiday party of friends and supporters.

We are starting the year with even greater intensity; with high anticipation of our signature charity fashion event, Roots, Rockin’, Royal II Fashion Show.  The February 26, 2010 event will raise needed funds for our adopted schools in Jamaica, and will feature the latest trends in Caribbean fashion. This is an event for the ‘fashionistas’, the trendsetters, the fashion lovers, and most of all, for those who believe giving can be entertaining and fun.

Roots, Rockin’, Royal is just one of the many initiatives JAMPACT will roll out in 2010. We invite you to stay tuned for the launch of our new website, which will give more in depth information on our work and ways you may get involved. Sign up for our monthly newsletter, which will share the most current and exciting news about happenings in JAMPACT, and how we are making a difference in our community. This includes our plan to make major contributions to the infrastructural development of our basic schools, giving our children top quality learning environment.   Become a member and add your voice to ours as we critically review social policy issues in Jamaica, and make a constructive call for change where needed.
