The City of Miami Gardens’ 9th annual Jazz in the Gardens music festival is proud to announce the expansion and funky addition to the Jazz in the Gardens weekend. This year marks the first annual Friday night opening party at Calder Casino – the party gets started at 9:00 p.m. Funk legends Dazz Band and SOS Band encourage fans to get funky to hits such as “Let It Whip”, “Joystick” and “Take Your Time.”

Expected attendance is 1,500 to include a combination of locals and out of towners who flock each year to the much anticipated weekend of music, exotic food and fun in the sun. Advance purchase tickets for the Friday Night Kickoff Party are just $45 in advance and can be purchased at jazzinthegardens.frontgatetickets.com.

When the disco ball stops spinning and the opening party is over, LL Cool J, Jamie Foxx, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Trey Songz, Kelly Rowland, Mint Condition, Anthony Hamilton, Stanley Clarke, Rachelle Farrell and Boney James will take the stage over the weekend at Sun Life Stadium. More than 50 food vendors will keep the crowd fueled and Merchandise Village offers fans a chance to take home a #JITG9 memento.

Before the Friday Night Party, the Jazz in the Gardens weekend will kick off on Friday morning 3/14 with the Women’s Impact Conference & Luncheon at Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club.
