The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) will be celebrating Child’s Month in a special way this year, as it hosts the grand finals of the Grace Tropical Rhythms Jamaica Children’s Gospel Song Competition under the theme “Children of the Rock”. This will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Finals will feature over 200 of Jamaica’s most talented children from schools, churches and other groups from across the island. The Finalists are between the ages of 6-15 years old, ministering great gospel music as soloists, ensembles and choirs. The winners will receive trophies, cash incentives and other prizes.
Guest performance will be Father Ho Lung & Friends Junior Department with special appearances by Alex Anderson and Remone Watson, 2012 Children’s Gospel Solo winners and Tony Young will be the Master of Ceremony.
Tickets for the event are being sold at adults: $700 pre-sold, $800 at the gate and children $300. Special group rates are also available and tickets may be purchase at JCDC Parish Offices, Music Depot (Clock Tower Plaza), Portmore Mall Pharmacy and Source of Light Book Store (Hagley Park Plaza) or online at www.jcdcjamaica.com
