Miami, Florida (May 28, 2007)— The Jamaica College Old Boys’ Association of Florida Annual Dinner celebrates Caribbean-American Heritage Month with a tribute to Great Caribbean-Americans by award-winning author and Jamaica College Old Boy, Geoffrey Philp. The Annual Dinner will be held at The Miramar Civic Center, 6920 SW 35th Street, Miramar, FL 33023. The Hon. R. Danny Williams, Chairman of the JC Board of Trustees, will be the guest speaker for the dinner which begins at 7:00 pm.
“It was an honor to be chosen to appear on this program because the values that I learned, both inside and outside the halls of Jamaica College, have become integral parts of my life,” said Philp. “At Jamaica College I learned camaraderie and teamwork and when I left, I realized the value of tradition and a life lived in service. As JC Old Boys, we carry Fervet Opus in Campis in our hearts and minds.”
The JCOBA seeks to mobilize its resources to help return the College to its storied background of excellence in the development of powerful Jamaican men. Indeed, Jamaica College has graduated a number of distinguished men who have given selflessly to the development of Jamaica.
