To celebrate the growth of JetBlue Airways’ (Nasdaq: JBLU) Jamaican network later this month, the value airline today announced a special $99 fare for flights between Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and its newest destination, Kingston, Jamaica. Sale flights are available today through April 12, 2012 at www.jetblue.com for customers traveling between April 30 and June 15, 2012 (a).
JetBlue begins twice daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston (KIN) on April 30, 2012, and will add a second flight from KIN to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on June 19, 2012.
“We’ve been flying to Jamaica for more than three years and are very pleased with the reception we’ve received,” said Chad Meyerson, director of global sales for JetBlue Airways. “Customers appreciate JetBlue’s value proposition and continue to ask for more flights. We are proud to be increasing connectivity between Kingston and South Florida, home to many Jamaicans.”
From Fort Lauderdale, Jamaicans will also have convenient connecting service onwards to Austin, TX; the New York metro area (La Guardia, Newark or White Plains); and Richmond, Va. The new service will complement JetBlue’s existing daily service from Kingston to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). JetBlue also flies direct from Montego Bay to JFK, Boston and Orlando.
Service to Fort Lauderdale will be operated by JetBlue’s Embraer E190 aircraft, offering two-by-two, comfortable all-leather seating, as well as the 150-seat Airbus A320. The airline’s customers also enjoy free movies on personal seatback TVs, a first-checked bag free (b), award-winning customer service and unlimited, complimentary snacks and drinks.
