JOB TITLE: Apple Certified Technician

LOCATION: American International School Of Kingston, Kingston

DESCRIPTION: Providing the first point of contact for support and maintenance of Mac equipment and developing procedures to ensure the whole team have the skills to support the Macs; Providing day to day general technical support to staff and students; In liaison with the Curriculum team, developing and maintaining Apple Mac and Windows software images for School hardware and overseeing the rollout of these images, performing ad hoc changes and updates as necessary; Administration of the Apple MAC server in liaison with the Network Support Team; Routine maintenance of equipment including cleaning and consumable replacement; Performing first line repairs to equipment where possible or arranging for appropriate maintenance or repair in liaison with the IT Manager; Assisting the IT Manager with keeping logs of equipment faults, equipment serial numbers, movement of IT equipment and software licensing information; Producing self-help information and user guides that enable ease of use of the systems by the user; Assisting IT Technicians with the Installing and/or moving of IT equipment including, computers/workstations, printers and other peripherals, at any of the School sites, including cabling where appropriate; Assisting with stock control of equipment and consumable items; Assisting in the evaluation of hardware and software applications; Ensuring security and protection of School systems to prevent misuse, viruses, etc. and assist with backing up systems as necessary; Assisting with maintaining the physical security of the School’s IT rooms and their contents; Carrying out portable appliance testing of equipment or assisting others to do so, as required. Training will be provided if necessary; Any other duties, which may from time to time be required and which are commensurate with the skills, experience and grade of the post holder

QUALIFICATIONS: Proof of official Apple Certification; Minimum of two years experience in Information Technology; Excellent communication skills; Must be able to interact with and support all departments; Must be a team player; A high level of honesty and integrity; Detail oriented; Experience working with APPLE computers, IPads, servers and software; One page cover letter stating interests and experiences; Two page (maximum) resume or curriculum vitae; Up to three letters of recommendation; Minimum of three reference names with contact information
