LOCATION: Institute of Jamaica, Kingston

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the development and implementation of the education, outreach and curatorial activities of the National Gallery of Jamaica (NGJ); Acquisitions and display of the National Art collection and temporary exhibitions; Identifying and recommending works of art to be added to the National Collection;  Directing the administration, care and display of the National Art Collection and any works of art on loan to the National Gallery; Directing the development, design and organization of National Gallery exhibitions and associated programs; Directing the research and publications of the National Gallery and the Gallery’s contributions to other publications on Jamaican art and related subjects; Directing the planning and implementation of education and outreach programs of the National Gallery.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in Art History preferred; Exceptional level of scholarship and professional experience, relevant to Jamaican and Caribbean art, and must be familiar with current museum and curatorial practices; Ability to lead and inspire the curatorial team.
