JOB TITLE: Community Education Specialist
LOCATION: Jamaicans for Justice, Kingston
DESCRIPTION: Implement a human rights, civic and advocacy training project in select communities; Developing a project work plan; Coordinating and administering community education workshops, leadership and advocacy workshops and town hall meetings; Designing content and delivery methodology for community workshops; Identifying and engaging with representatives and key stakeholders from targeted communities; Working within the local governance structure and engaging duty bearers; Gathering and analyzing participant data and synthesize for reporting; Making recommendations for reforms
QUALIFICATIONS: At least a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sociology, Education, Law or other degree related to the position; At least three years experience in community development, advocacy, social and behavior change; Knowledge of human rights, civics, Access to Information (ATI) Act and experienced in the participatory approach to education and training; Excellent organizational and project implementation skills; Ability to connect and liaise with people from diverse backgrounds; Experienced in data collection and report writing; Excellent presentation and writing skills; Proficient in advocacy communication techniques; Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative; Owner of a reliable motor vehicle
