JOB TITLE: Curatorial Assistant
LOCATION: Montego Bay Cultural Centre, Montego Bay
DESCRIPTION: To provide support to the exhibitions and functions staged at the National Gallery of Jamaica West, and facilitating related workshops, educational programs and tours for the general public; Oversee the day-to-day operations of NGW exhibition gallery; Prepare tour scripts for exhibitions, under supervision of the National Gallery Curatorial and Education Department; Schedule and conduct tours; Facilitate the planning and implementation of in-house programs and exhibitions and new projects for the Centre; Make recommendations for cleaning and storage of artifacts
QUALIFICATIONS: Edna Manley College Diploma or First Degree in Visual Arts or Art Education; Teaching experience and Tour guide certification would be an asset; Knowledge of art practices and art gallery operational standards; Knowledge of Jamaican and Caribbean Art History, Culture and Current Affairs; Excellent computer skills
