LOCATION: Ministry of Finance & Planning, Kingston
DESCRIPTION: Conceptualize, plan and implement the Ministry’s internal and external communications and Public Relations program; Developing the strategic communications plan with appropriate policies, strategies and activities to support the mandate of the political directorate, executive office and the general Ministry that will generate goodwill and provide timely and current information to all stakeholders; Developing PR strategies, campaigns, and other initiatives to strengthen the public image of the Ministry; Developing and promoting an effective public relations program for the Political Directorate and the Financial Secretary; Providing internal and external communication and information support to all divisions of the ministry in an effective and cost efficient manner; Leading and managing the Unit in the achievement of the strategic objectives of the Ministry; Formulate strategies, policies and procedures related to public education programs; and Managing the organization’s reputation with the public in general and its clients
QUALIFICATIONS: BSc. in Mass Communications, Journalism or Public Relations; OR BSc. in Social Sciences, Arts/Humanities with a Diploma in Mass Communications, Journalism or Public Relations; At least five (5) years related experience at a senior level; Comprehensive knowledge of Public Administration; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal and time management skills; Strong presentation and organizational skills; Sound knowledge of Strategic Communications; Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop; Working knowledge of Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.,)
